  The location and elegance of the Metropolitan Hotel was wonderful as was the service. They even granted our requests for our anniversary evening, and even included a nice note and chocolate dessert. They upgraded us to a renovated Jr suite that was modern and luxurious.... Setting the tone for a lovely evening.

  We stayed at the Metropolitan, prior to starting a RV holiday in Canada. The Hotel in mainstream Vancouver was convenient in location to sightseeing and shopping. Also it was within easy walking distance from the Canada Line transport link with Vancouver Airport. We were early checking in but that proved to be no problem whatsoever. The room was very clean and comfortable, and staff extremely helpful especially Concierge & Door Staff. We did not try the restaurant as we only stayed 1 night, but it looked very nice. We made some local calls whilst at the Hotel, and these were not charged to us when checking out, which was a very pleasant surprise. All in all, I would recommend this hotel and I would stay there again in the hopeful event of us returning to the wonderful city of Vancouver.

  location was good for shops& restaurants

  waterfront and parks were too distant to walk everyday no courtesy bus to use to pick up rental car or for airport trip

  The concierge couldn't tell me where I could park a tall vehicle. I had to drive around looking for any place I could find that might work. I eventually parked at an outdoor lot in a sketchy area quite a distance away and walked back to the hotel. Once back in my room, it took me less than five minutes to locate three or four indoor parking garages within a couple blocks and after calling found two that could accommodate my car. The concierge had a computer and telephone sitting right in front of him. There was no reason he couldn't have done his job and found a garage as easily as I did. All the other staff was great. But why have a concierge sitting there who isn't going to do the simplest thing to help you if he doesn't know the answer to tour question off the top of his head?

  My only complaint is all the hidden fees and taxes. My room qas $278.00 for 2 nights and with all the hidden fees was over $400.00 when i left. You could explain to me why the parking tax is 21% and then charged HST on the total, as far as i know it is illegal to charge tax on tax Thanks Pete McKeen

  The location was perfect for us. Right downtown within a block of the Art Gallery and transit. Although surrounded by high rise towers we had Ashe rising view toward Stanley Park.

  The hotel staff were excellent. The hotel has an air of luxury, is clean, and welcoming. Very quiet considering it is in the heart of Vancouver. I would highly recommend it. Worth every penny.

  Good location for activities in downtown Vancouver Easy access for parking Smoking permitted Wi-fi is very good compared to other Vancouver hotels

  Tv was old tube style Cable selection seemed lower than basic No freezer compartment in "mini-bar" - seemed like a throwback to days gone by $8.00 for a bottle of water seemed a bit excessive - 7 Eleven within two blocks though

  Quite simply the staff, especially the concierge, Natalie, and the desk staff. Nothing was too much trouble . Also we loved our room, spacious, attractive and comfortable.
